Closed shoes beat sandals for dune bashing and quad biking, sand finds its way into open footwear within minutes, and closed shoes also protect against the sandboard's edges.
Light, breathable fabrics work best during the day, a long-sleeve layer is worth having for evening or overnight safaris once temperatures drop after sunset.
Sunglasses and a scarf or light headwrap cut down on sand in your eyes during dune bashing, especially if your vehicle's windows are down for photos.
For camel rides, looser trousers are more comfortable than tight jeans, and flowing dresses, while great for photos, can be tricky to manage mounting and dismounting.
